Australian Micro Adventures
Looking for a quick escape from the city to soak up some nature? We all need to re-charge our batteries and learn something new. Most importantly having fun in our outside classrooms is our prime goal.
These short trips last for 3 or 4 days and are not too far from a major city. They are season and time specific. Weather can be unpredictable but with some luck you can come back with lots of amazing images.
Weather Permitting, we will do seascapes, slow exposures, fast exposures, astrophotography, sunrise, sunset, waterfalls and abstract landscape photography.
What to Bring: Photographic & General Gear
DSLR or hybrid digital camera
Wide angle lens 14-24mm + 24 - 70 & 70 - 200mm range.
Tripod & Cable Release or Remote
Dependable Portable External Drive
Laptop and power supply
Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop
ND Filters - 6 stops, 10 stops, Circular Polariser, 4 stop reverse graduated
Up to 10 kg luggage and appropriate clothing, spiked booties or water proof ankle high boots, raincoat, gloves.
Moderate Level of Fitness is required with around 10,000-20,000 steps a day (2-4hrs) and uneven surfaces

Master Composition Elements and Principles (Critique and advice offered on location and editing)
Landscape Photography
Seascape Photography (Long Exposure, Filter Use, Fast Exposure)
Waterfall Photography if on itinerary
Astrophotography if weather permits
Advanced Editing Techniques (i.e. Focus Stacking, Bracketing, Composite, Luminosity Masking, H.D.R. & Panorama Stitch)
Australian Walking Track Grading System
Grade 1
No bushwalking experience required. Flat even surface with no steps or steep sections. Suitable for wheelchair users who have someone to assist them. Walks no greater than 5km.
Grade 2
No bushwalking experience required. The track is hardened or compacted surface and may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps. Walks no greater than 10km.
Grade 3
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps. Walks up to 20km.
Grade 4
Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited.
